Bascun Tsal is the variety of Tsal spoken in Bascun.

Phonology

  • Long vowels /aː/, /eː/, /iː/, /oː/ are realized as [æw], [ɛw], [ɪw], [ɔw].
  • Syllable-final /l/ is realized as a long vowel.
  • For some speakers, /x/ and /ɣ/ are realized as [f] and [v].

Lexicon

Speakers of Bascun Tsal use an (pronounced [aŋ]) to reply negatively to questions.
